Product Development Engineer (Electronics)

Product Development Engineer On Site - Gateshead Salary : Up to £55,000 depending on experience but junior and graduates are welcome to apply as we can consider all levels for this role. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Engineer to join an innovative engineering and technology business operating within the transport and safety systems sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, developing cutting-edge products, and working across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to deployment and in-service support. You’ll work closely with technical leadership and cross-functional teams to help shape future product development, improve existing systems, and provide technical expertise on advanced video and safety technologies. Support the development and improvement of safety-critical technology products Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-level issues Work on innovative solutions across electronics, systems engineering, and video applications Degree qualified in Electronics, Systems Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience) Knowledge or interest in product development and engineering systems Understanding of networking and communication protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS232/485 etc.) CCTV or video systems knowledge (H.Experience with embedded systems or electronics design Exposure to software development/testing Rail, transport, or safety-critical industry experience This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced engineers and ambitious graduates looking to build a long-term career within an innovative and supportive engineering environment.
