HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver (Nights)

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our team based in Wroot, Doncaster. This role involves shunting stock between local sites in Doncaster.

You will be driving a modern, well-maintained fleet , fully equipped with driver comfort packages, ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Transport stock between multiple sites within the Doncaster region.
Carry out shunting duties, including positioning trailers, moving units, and organising yard flow.
Complete drop and swap operations safely and efficiently.
Undertake live loading and tipping , ensuring all goods are handled correctly.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects in line with company procedures.
Maintain accurate paperwork, including delivery notes, logs, and compliance documents.
Work closely with warehouse, transport, and yard teams to ensure smooth operations.
Adhere to all health & safety, site rules, and legal driving regulations at all times.

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous shunting or Class 1 driving experience preferred.
Strong awareness of safety, especially in busy yard environments.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Good communication skills and a professional attitude.

Paid a minimum of 11 hours work, average shift 12 hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £16.00 per hour
