Finance Director

Our client is a successful, privately owned business with an established reputation and a strong platform for continued growth. As the business continues to evolve, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Finance Director who will work closely with the Managing Director and play a key role in both the day-to-day management and future development of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and forming part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Finance Director will take overall responsibility for the finance function, leading a small but capable team and ensuring the business benefits from accurate reporting, robust financial controls and commercially focused financial insight. This is a role that requires an individual who is comfortable operating at every level. Whilst contributing to strategic discussions and helping to shape business direction, the successful candidate will also remain closely involved in the operational aspects of the finance function. You will provide leadership to the team, oversee the production of management information, manage cash flow and working capital, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensure the business has the financial discipline and information required to make sound decisions. The Finance Director will act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director, providing financial perspective, challenge and support across a broad range of commercial and operational matters. As a privately owned business, decisions are made quickly and the successful individual will have the opportunity to make a visible and tangible contribution to performance and growth. Candidates should be qualified accountants with experience gained in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within a privately owned, entrepreneurial or SME environment. Equally comfortable in the boardroom and within the detail, you will possess strong technical and commercial skills, a pragmatic approach and the ability to build credibility throughout the organisation.
