HGV Mechanic / Technician
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic / Technician to join our team in Ipswich. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles, ensuring our fleet remains roadworthy, compliant, and operating efficiently.( 70% of the trucks are Mercedes Actros)
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of HGVs.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical.
Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks.
Prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and servicing.
Requirements
Previous experience working as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of HGV maintenance and repair procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair are desirable.
