About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Inspector to support quality assurance and control activities on a critical defence programme at the BAE Systems site in Barrow-in-Furness, on behalf of Bureau Veritas. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical installation, inspection, and testing activities comply with stringent regulatory, client, and industry quality standards within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. The role will be working on a 12 Month+ Contract - Outside of IR35 Key Responsibilities Conduct inspections of electrical installations, systems, and components. Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and electrical standards. Review and validate electrical test results and certification documentation. Witness and sign off testing activities including FAT/SAT where required. Ensure adherence to Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality procedures. Raise, document, and track non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure close-out. Interface with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams. Maintain accurate QA/QC records and inspection reports. Essential Requirements Proven experience as an Electrical Quality Inspector within a regulated industry. Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent). Strong knowledge of electrical installation standards (e.g., BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations). Experience with inspection, testing, and commissioning processes. Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and reporting systems. Desirable Skills & Experience ~ Experience on BAE Systems Barrow site or defence programmes. ~ Marine, submarine, or nuclear sector experience. ~ CompEx or similar hazardous area certification. ~2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent). ~ Experience within major EPC or construction projects. Security Clearance & Compliance Requirements Role is subject to UK National Security Vetting. Candidates must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC). Preference for candidates holding active SC clearance. Typically requires UK residency for the last 5 years. Must have the right to work in the UK. Must complete security vetting before site access. Must adhere to all site security and confidentiality protocols.
