About the role

Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is seeking a dedicated Land Rights Project Manager for a contract role based across the UK, with a hybrid working model. This position is key to supporting the UK's ambition to achieve a net zero carbon footprint by 2050, specifically focusing on the development and delivery of new infrastructure projects within the Land, Planning, and External Affairs department. Key Responsibilities: Guide a diverse team of land rights specialists, overseeing projects from inception to completion, including land acquisition and community negotiations Provide expert advice and technical support to team members Lead a team of surveyors and land officers for major new infrastructure builds Act as an expert witness in Public Inquiries, Compulsory Purchase, and Land Tribunal cases Implement National Grid's Land Rights Strategy consistently and economically Report on project progress, key milestones, risks, and financial matters to stakeholders Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and effectively communicate complex ideas Support the Head of ETNI/SINI Land Teams in project delivery Provide technical advice to National Grid's Land Team and the broader project team Liaise with stakeholders, external suppliers, and third parties to achieve project objectives Attend relevant meetings and forums as required Job Requirements: Significant experience in managing large-scale, complex land projects Proven ability to provide guidance and support within a team setting Strong communication skills, capable of handling conflict situations and advising team members Excellent project management skills with a keen understanding of land rights and acquisitions Relevant professional qualifications preferred (e.g., Member of the RICS, project management certifications) Relevant degree in a related field If you are a lands professional with a robust background in managing complex land projects and wish to contribute to a greener future, we would love to hear from you.
