Overview

A leading international building services engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Associate Director to join its growing team. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced professional with strong technical expertise within the data centre sector and a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions, managing client relationships, supporting business growth, and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering function within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Deliver technically challenging projects across the data centre sector
  • Provide technical leadership, design oversight, and contract management support
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Support business development activities, including winning new work and negotiating contracts
  • Drive team performance, development, and engagement through effective leadership and mentoring
  • Oversee recruitment, appraisals, training, and career development initiatives
  • Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards
  • Monitor financial performance, profitability, and resource planning
  • Promote collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across teams
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with company values

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation
  • Extensive experience within the building services consultancy sector
  • Strong technical background delivering mission critical and/or data centre projects
  • Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and project financial management experience
  • Ability to manage complex technical and operational challenges
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
  • Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering large-scale international or mission critical projects
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary project environments
  • Involvement in strategic business growth and client development initiatives
