Finance Manager

A privately owned SME in Lincoln is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function. This is a newly created role within a £2m turnover business with clear growth ambitions, offering the chance to make a real impact and shape how finance supports the next phase of development. You’ll be the go‑to person for all financial operations - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being close to the detail. The role You’ll be responsible for managing the full finance cycle, including: Processing sales and purchase invoices Allocating receipts and payments Posting journals and maintaining accurate ledgers Bank reconciliations Preparing monthly management accounts Chasing outstanding debt Completing VAT returns Managing the relationship with the bank Supporting additional tasks such as overseeing outsourced payroll Overseeing 2 direct reports  About you This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on SME environment and enjoys taking ownership. You will bring: Experience in bookkeeping or a similar hands-on finance role Qualification status flexible - fully qualified, part qualified or QBE all considered Strong attention to detail and accuracy A proactive, positive approach Confidence working independently and managing your own workload
