SCO 2 Competent Person

Job Title: SCO 2 Competent Person Location: New Forest, UK Project Duration: 5 weeks Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced SCO 2 Competent Person to support an upcoming project based in the New Forest. The role will involve working on a high-pressure gas site, carrying out critical maintenance activities to address a leaking flange in a safe and controlled environment. Key Responsibilities: Act as the SCO 2 Competent Person on site, ensuring all works are carried out in line with current gas safety regulations and company procedures Safely oversee and/or carry out the repair of a leaking flange on a high-pressure gas installation Implement and maintain strict adherence to permit-to-work systems and safety protocols Liaise with site supervisors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and safe completion of the works Conduct site risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are put in place Ensure compliance with SCO procedures, IGEM standards, and all relevant industry regulations Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as required Requirements: Valid SCO 2 Competent Person certification (essential) Proven experience working on high-pressure gas systems Demonstrable experience in flange repair or similar mechanical maintenance activities Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and procedures Ability to work safely in a high-risk environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Please click to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
