Grounds Maintenance Operative - Ongoing Temp Role (Potential Temp to Perm) Location: Stevenage (and surrounding areas) Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour Contract: Ongoing temporary with potential to become permanent The Role We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a busy Street Scene / Grounds team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with relevant experience looking for ongoing, stable work with the potential to secure a permanent position. You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of grounds maintenance and street scene duties, delivering high standards across public spaces and facilities. Key Duties Grass cutting and general grounds maintenance Pruning, hedge cutting and soft landscaping Tree work support and vegetation control Sports pitch marking and upkeep Cemetery duties (including grave preparation) Operating machinery such as mowers, tractors and sweepers Ensuring tools, equipment and vehicles are safely used and maintained Completing basic records and checks Working safely in line with health & safety regulationsRequirements Full manual driving licence - essential Previous grounds maintenance or related outdoor work experience - essential Ability to operate machinery/tools (training can be provided) Strong understanding of health & safety practices Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Able to work independently and as part of a teamWhat's on Offer £13.45 per hour Full-time hours: Monday to Friday (37 hours per week) Ongoing temporary work Opportunity for temp to perm Supportive and professional team environment Varied, hands-on role with no two days the sameApply Today If you have the relevant experience and are looking for your next opportunity in grounds maintenance, apply now via Blue Arrow or your chosen job board.
