Social Worker – Assessment and Safeguarding Team | Westmorland and Furness Council | £45.56 per hour Sheldon Phillips are currently working with Westmorland and Furness Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker into their Assessment and Safeguarding Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a frontline service offering an excellent pay rate while working within a supportive safeguarding environment. Role Overview The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload involving assessments, safeguarding intervention and court work. The team works with children and families from referral stage through Child Protection and pre-proceedings, ensuring children receive timely and effective intervention. Key Responsibilities Completing Child and Family Assessments Undertaking S17 and S47 enquiries Managing Child Protection and Child in Need plans Completing court reports and supporting care proceedings Undertaking PLO and pre-proceedings work Working closely with multi-agency partners Completing direct work with children and families Maintaining high-quality recording and assessments Benefits Competitive rate of £45.56 per hour Flexible hybrid working arrangements Supportive management structure High-performing frontline safeguarding service Long-term contract opportunities Requirements SWE Registration Social Work qualification Strong assessment and safeguarding experience Court and PLO experience Ability to manage complex cases independently Excellent communication and assessment skills Interested?
