Principal Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid Working)

Principal Mechanical Engineer Salary - c£65,000 + Benefits Package Due to the nature of the work, this role requires eligibility for Security Clearance (SC) and can only consider Sole British Nationals. Copello are working with a leading Defence organisation in Kent to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team supporting the design, development and ongoing support of complex, safety-critical systems. Lead the development of innovative mechanical design solutions to meet customer and programme requirements Produce and review technical documentation, design data packs, calculations and engineering reports Act as a Design Authority, reviewing and approving engineering designs and technical datasets Provide technical leadership and guidance across multidisciplinary engineering teams Support design reviews, qualification activities and risk reduction programmes Work closely with project teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings, models and technical documentation Previous experience leading technical activities, projects or engineering teams Ability to operate at a senior technical level within a complex engineering environment
