Management Accountant Stafford £40,000 The Role Are you a hands-on Management Accountant looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a growing SME? We're recruiting on behalf of an ambitious and expanding business seeking a proactive Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function. This is a standalone role where you'll work closely with the Directors, providing accurate financial reporting, improving processes and delivering the financial insight needed to support continued business growth. What will you be doing? * Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports. * Managing the month-end process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. * Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and daily bank reconciliations. * Managing supplier payments and maintaining strong supplier relationships. * Taking ownership of credit control and supporting healthy cash flow. * Producing cash flow forecasts and financial analysis for the Directors. * Supporting payroll preparation, pension submissions and commission calculations. * Assisting with budgeting and forecasting. * Working alongside external accountants during the year-end process. * Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and systems. * Acting as a trusted finance partner across the wider business. What will you bring to the party? * AAT qualified (Level 4 preferred) or equivalent finance qualification. * Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Company Accountant or similar standalone finance role. * Experience producing monthly management accounts. * Strong knowledge of month-end processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments. * Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system. * Excellent understanding of financial controls and accounting principles. * Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. * A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to work independently. * Experience within an SME environment would be advantageous.
