Mechanical Fitters / Mechanical Operatives – Full Training Provided ( temp to Perm contract after 3 months) Staffright are recruiting on behalf of a large industrial client in Basildon for Mechanical Fitters. You do not necessarily need previous experience with the job title "Mechanical Fitter" to apply. If you have transferable mechanical skills, experience using power tools, or a background in assembly, manufacturing, engineering, construction, vehicle mechanics, production, or similar hands-on roles, we encourage you to apply. Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 06:45 – 15:45 Friday: 06:45 – 11:45 Total: 39 paid hours per week Enjoy an early finish every Friday to support a healthy work-life balance. Pay & Benefits Starting pay: £13.00 per hour Increase to £13.30 per hour after 3 months Overtime available: Monday to Friday: £16.25 per hour Saturday & Sunday: £19.50 per hour Salary review after 3 months, with potential increases based on performance Opportunity to progress into a permanent role Full training provided Supportive and experienced team environment Excellent long-term career prospects Key Responsibilities Assemble, install and maintain mechanical components and equipment Carry out mechanical assembly work using power tools Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Conduct routine inspections and fault-finding activities Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team What We're Looking For Experience using power tools Transferable mechanical skills from previous hands-on roles Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work Good English communication skills, including reading and understanding instructions Reliable, hardworking and punctual Eagerness to learn and develop new skills Whether you have worked as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Operative, Production Operative, Vehicle Technician, Engineering Operative, Maintenance Assistant, Fabricator, Installer, or in another mechanically focused role, we'd love to hear from you.
