Founding Software/Product Engineer (Legal Tech / AI)

Location: London, hybrid 3 days on site

Salary: £110,000-£150,000 + Equity

Stage: Seed-funded, pre-launch AI Legal Tech startup

We're partnered with a seed-funded, regulated AI legal tech startup as they build out their Founding Engineering team. They're months from launch and building something with genuine category-defining ambition.

This is a business at a real inflection point. Regulation is being finalised, the product is near-launch ready, and they're now looking for company hire #4 and their first Senior/Lead Software Engineer to own the technical architecture of a product that will handle millions of pounds in client funds.

You'll work directly alongside the founding team in a regulated, high-stakes environment where your engineering decisions have a genuine impact on how the end user interacts with the product.

The systems challenge is significant: multiple integrations across telephony, email infrastructure, client portals, and AI agents, all needing to be rock solid from day one.

Backed by a team and experience Founders with multiple exits between them, and the ambition is to build a long-term category winner.

Requirements

• An experienced operator, you've seen software built in the right way and enjoy getting your hands dirty building out 0-1 products.
• You've demonstrated mastery of building AI harnesses and Agentic workflows for your coding and are likely managing an agentic team
• Experience building customer facing applications
• Happy contributing across the fullstack with experience in Python, TypeScript (Next.JS) and ReactJS
• You enjoy working in a product focussed environment partnering with customers/end users.
