Salary: £27,000 per annum, rising to £30,000 upon successful completion of probation
Hours:
* Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
* Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

About Momentum Training
Momentum Training is a growing recruitment and training provider delivering government-funded training, Skills Bootcamps, employability programmes, and commercial training across the Construction, Engineering, Warehousing, Logistics, Plant Operations, and Employability sectors.
As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated Business Development Officer to join our Derby office and play a key role in generating employer opportunities, supporting learner progressions, and contributing to the ongoing success of the business.
Role Purpose
The Business Development Officer will be responsible for developing relationships with employers, identifying vacancies and progression opportunities, supporting learner recruitment, and contributing towards company growth targets.
This is a fast-paced, target-driven role with a strong focus on employer engagement, business development, learner progression, and relationship management. The role is predominantly office-based and will involve significant telephone activity, alongside occasional employer meetings and networking events.
Key Responsibilities
Employer Engagement & Business Development
Generate new employer relationships through outbound business development activity.
Promote Momentum's training, recruitment, and workforce development services.
Identify skills shortages and recruitment opportunities within local and national businesses.
Arrange meetings with employers to discuss training and recruitment solutions.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of employer contacts and opportunities.
Attend networking events and employer engagement activities where required.
Learner Progressions & Recruitment
Source employment opportunities for learners completing training programmes.
Match learners to suitable vacancies and progression opportunities.
Submit learner CVs to employers and recruitment agencies.
Coordinate interviews and gather employer feedback.
Support learners with applications and employability activities.
Collect and record progression evidence in line with contractual requirements.
Sales & Relationship Management
Conduct daily B2B sales calls to employers.
Follow up employer enquiries and opportunities.
Develop repeat business opportunities with existing employer contacts.
Support the achievement of monthly business development and progression targets.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate records on the PICS Management Information System and internal CRM systems.
Update employer engagement trackers and vacancy records.
Record all activity, employer interactions, and outcomes accurately.
Produce reports and updates as required by management.
Ensure compliance with company policies and funding requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident and professional telephone manner.
Ability to build relationships with employers and stakeholders.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
Ability to work towards targets and deadlines.
