Electrical Shift Engineer Location: Blackfriars, London Salary: £53,000 Shift Pattern: Days Only – 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off About the Role An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join the engineering team at a prestigious commercial office building in Blackfriars. Working on a days-only shift pattern, you'll be responsible for maintaining a modern 5–6 floor commercial building, ensuring all electrical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. You'll work alongside a dedicated Mechanical Engineer on each shift, making this an ideal role for a technically strong Electrical Engineer who enjoys working within a close-knit team while taking ownership of the electrical infrastructure. Duties & Responsibilities * Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all electrical systems. * Diagnose and repair faults on lighting, power, emergency lighting, switchgear, and electrical distribution equipment. * Carry out routine inspections of electrical plant and associated building services. * Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the building, ensuring minimal disruption to occupants. * Work collaboratively with the Mechanical Engineer to resolve technical issues and complete maintenance tasks. * Liaise with specialist contractors when required and oversee works on-site. * Complete maintenance documentation and ensure statutory compliance. * Adhere to all health & safety policies and permit-to-work procedures. Candidate Requirements * Qualified Electrician (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). * Strong experience within commercial building maintenance. * Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. * Good understanding of building services and associated plant. * Able to work confidently in a client-facing environment. * A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a two-person engineering team.
