About the role
We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Risk & Compliance to shape and lead the strategic direction of technical assurance, statutory compliance, engineering risk, and organisational resilience across a large-scale UK facilities management portfolio.

Reporting to the Technical Services Director, this is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll act as the senior technical authority, driving best-in-class compliance, governance, and operational resilience across complex, multi-site environments.

This is a hybrid role with travel across the UK, offering flexibility on location while providing exposure to a wide range of operational environments and stakeholders.
This role is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 Months.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Setting the strategic direction for technical risk, compliance, and assurance across the portfolio
- Leading robust governance and ensuring full statutory compliance across all technical services
- Acting as the senior advisor on engineering risk, compliance, and regulatory obligations
- Overseeing risk management, audits, and assurance programmes to drive continuous improvement
- Owning business continuity and resilience planning, including incident response frameworks
- Driving performance through KPIs, supplier oversight, and operational improvement plans
- Supporting mobilisation and transformation projects from a technical risk perspective
- Embedding a strong culture of technical excellence, compliance, and accountability
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a strategic leader with:
- Significant senior leadership experience in technical services, engineering compliance, or risk management within FM or the built environment
- Deep understanding of statutory compliance and engineering governance
- Proven experience managing compliance across multi-site, complex operations
- Strong experience handling operational risk and critical incidents
- Commercial awareness within technical FM contracts
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities
- A decisive, action-oriented mindset with the ability to operate in complex environments
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH / IOSH
- IRM, MBCI / CBCI
- ISO 22301 Lead Implementer / Auditor
- Relevant engineering or technical qualifications
