About the role

A growing financial and legal claims management company based in Liverpool is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role holder will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team responsible for the financial strategy, governance, and regulatory financial compliance of the business and will ensure the firm maintains robust financial controls, adequate capital resources, and effective risk management in accordance with the regulatory requirements applicable to FCA-regulated Claims Management Companies (CMCs).The CFO will act as the SMF2 Chief Finance Function under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR) and will be responsible for ensuring the firm maintains appropriate financial resources, effective financial controls, and transparent regulatory reporting to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).Under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime, the CFO will be responsible for:Financial strategy and financial management of the firmEnsuring financial resources remain adequateRegulatory financial reporting to the FCAFinancial controls and governance frameworksOversight of accounting policies and financial risk managementEnsuring financial implications of strategic decisions are appropriately assessedThe role holder must comply with the Senior Manager Conduct Rules and maintain regulatory fitness and propriety.This role is to be based onsite to begin with (before becoming hybrid after an appropriate time) at the companys central Liverpool offices and is paying up to £120,000 per annum plus very good benefits.Required Skills & ExperienceEssentialQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).Significant senior finance leadership experience (10+ years).Strong knowledge of FCA financial resource requirements and regulatory reporting.Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and governance experience.Highly DesirableExperience within Claims Management Companies, legal services, insurance claims, or financial services.Experience preparing organisations for FCA authorisation or regulatory supervision.
