About the role

Junior Geoenvironmental Consultant Location: Central London Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Benefits An excellent opportunity has become available for a Junior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a well-established environmental and engineering consultancy in Central London. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or consultant with up to two years' experience who is looking to develop a career in contaminated land, ground investigation and environmental consultancy while working alongside an experienced and supportive team. You will be involved in a broad range of residential, commercial, infrastructure and redevelopment projects across London and the South East. The successful candidate will gain exposure to all stages of site investigation, contaminated land assessment and remediation projects, with excellent opportunities for training and career progression. The Role Assisting with Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and desk studies. Supporting and supervising ground investigation works. Soil, groundwater and ground gas sampling. Logging soils and rocks to current industry standards. Monitoring contractors and ensuring health and safety procedures are followed on site. Scheduling laboratory testing and reviewing analytical results. Assisting with Phase 2 Geoenvironmental Interpretive Reports. Supporting contaminated land risk assessments and remediation strategies. Liaising with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies. Producing high-quality technical reports with support from senior consultants. Working on a mixture of field-based and office-based projects. Requirements BSc or MSc in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geoscience, Geography or a related discipline. A strong interest in contaminated land and ground investigation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Full UK Driving Licence. Full right to work in the UK. Desirable Previous site investigation, geoenvironmental or environmental consultancy experience. Knowledge of contaminated land legislation and risk assessment. Experience using ArcGIS, QGIS or AutoCAD. Understanding of British Standards for site investigation and logging. CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one). Benefits Competitive starting salary.
