Job Description Part-time Semi-Senior / Senior Accountant Near Chelmsford (A12) £30,000 – £38,000 FTE, Established regional firm An established and highly regarded independent accountancy firm near Chelmsford is looking to expand its team with the addition of a part-time Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant.

The Role This role is ideal for an individual seeking a flexible, reduced-hours position within practice.
Whether you are an experienced Semi-Senior ready to progress or an existing Senior Accountant looking to rebalance your working week, this position offers genuine flexibility.
Working options can be tailored to suit your lifestyle, including school hours or condensed days across 2–4 days per week.
You’ll be joining a reputable local firm with a strong presence and a supportive environment that encourages ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities Preparing year-end accounts for a mix of limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders Producing statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 101 Completing corporation tax computations and submissions Preparing, reviewing, and filing VAT returns Managing client relationships and responding to queries on accounting and tax matters Gaining exposure to audit assignments (beneficial for those interested in a dual accounts/audit path) What We’re Looking For AAT Level 4 qualification or be ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified (QBE candidates also considered) A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice Previous experience working directly with clients Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention xwzovoh to detail The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines confidently Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, CCH, or Sage What’s on Offer Salary between £30,000 and £38,000 FTE, depending on experience Flexible working hours to support work-life balance Study support and continued professional development where appropriate A stable and respected local firm with a strong client base If you are keen to continue your career in practice while benefiting from reduced hours, this opportunity offers the perfect balance!
