Design & Technology Technician Location: Hanwell, West London Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (plus INSET days) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) Start Date: ASAP or September 2026 Join Our Dynamic DT Department We are seeking a practical, organised and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to support our busy and creative DT department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and a passion for supporting young people in developing their creativity and practical abilities. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment and supporting staff and students during practical lessons. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and set up materials, tools and equipment for DT lessons Support teaching staff during practical sessions where required Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised workshop environment Ensure equipment is properly maintained, repaired and stored Manage stock levels and order materials when required Support health and safety procedures within the department Assist in demonstrating safe use of tools and machinery to students Contribute to the development of engaging DT projects and displays The Successful Candidate Will: Have experience working in a workshop, school or practical environment (preferred) Be practical, hands-on and confident using tools and machinery Understand or be willing to learn health and safety procedures in a school setting Be organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and students Have a positive and proactive attitude Previous experience in a school DT department is desirable but not essential We Offer: A supportive and friendly working environment Well-equipped DT workshops and resources Opportunities for training and professional development A strong and collaborative staff team Motivated and respectful students A commitment to staff wellbeing and career development About the School We are a successful and inclusive secondary school serving a diverse community in West London.
