About the role

Main Purpose of the Job Cleaner 1.1 To ensure that Sheltered Housing Schemes are cleaned to a standard that is adequate to meet the need of both the tenants and at the standard set by management. 1.2 To respond to tenants who summon help in emergency situations and help care for the general well being and safety of residents in sheltered accommodation. 1.3 To assist in ensuring the security of sheltered housing schemes is maintained at all times when on the scheme 1.4 To assist in fostering a community spirit by promoting sheltered accommodation, developing the scheme as a centre of excellence and organising social events/activities. 1.5 To assist to monitor and to promote the general well-being and safety of tenants in residential sheltered accommodation with a view to preserving and encouraging their independence. 2 Principal Accountabilities Cleaner 2.1 To vacuum all carpeted areas that are common to tenants within Sheltered Schemes. 2.2 To clean all common areas including both kitchen and toilet facilities where they are included in the scheme, ensuring all equipment e.g. urns kettles, cupboards etc are kept clean and tidy at all times. 2.3 Dust as required ensuring common areas are of satisfactory standard. To clean those external areas as designated by the Senior Scheme Knowledge of the Health and Safety issues as they relate to the use of cleaning agents. Relevant Experience Cleaner E1Minimum of 6 months a cleaning service to customers in a non-domestic setting.
