We are currently working with a highly regarded secondary school seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join their thriving Science Department on a long-term basis. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and setting up equipment and materials for practical science lessons Supporting teachers during laboratory activities when required Safely handling, storing, and disposing of chemicals and scientific materials Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring resources are readily available Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies Upholding health and safety standards and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures Keeping laboratories and preparation areas clean, organised, and well-maintained Providing general administrative and technical support to the Science Department The Ideal Candidate We are keen to hear from individuals who have: A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific subject Previous experience working within a laboratory environment A sound understanding of chemical handling and laboratory safety practices Strong IT and administrative skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills A proactive and organised approach to their work A genuine interest in developing a long-term career as a Science Technician The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
