Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a role where you can genuinely influence people, processes, and culture? We’re looking for a proactive HR Advisor to join our growing team and provide high‑quality HR support across three sites in the North West.
This is a hands‑on generalist role where you’ll be the first point of contact for employees and managers, supporting everything from recruitment and on-boarding to employee relations, training, and policy guidance.
What you’ll be doing
* Acting as the first point of contact for all HR queries (in person, email, and phone)
* Providing clear, compliant HR advice to managers and employees
* Supporting a wide range of employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance
* Managing end‑to‑end recruitment: requisitions, job descriptions, advertising, agency liaison, screening, interviewing, and feedback
* Issuing contracts and new starter documentation accurately and on time
* Overseeing on-boarding, including medical checks, references, right‑to‑work, and induction
* Managing HR systems (VinciWorks, Verifile, Optima Health) and reporting monthly to the HR Manager
* Supporting managers through probation reviews at key milestones
* Assisting with the annual salary review process and identifying exceptional performers
* Working collaboratively with union representatives and staying up to date with the Employment Rights Act 2025
* Designing and delivering training sessions for managers and employees
* Preparing accurate payroll data (overtime, sickness, starters, leavers, changes)
* Managing family‑friendly policy requests (maternity, paternity, flexible working, etc.)
What we’re looking for
* Previous experience in a generalist HR role
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Confident handling employee relations cases
* Experience managing recruitment processes end‑to‑end
* Comfortable delivering training and coaching managers
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to build trust and credibility across all levels
* Experience working with unions (desirable)
* Familiarity with HR systems such as VinciWorks, Verifile, or Optima Health (advantageous)
What you’ll get
* A supportive HR team and a manager who invests in your development
* The chance to shape processes, influence culture, and drive continuous improvement
* Exposure to a wide range of HR activities across multiple sites
* Opportunities to deliver training and develop your HR specialisms
