Head of PMO (Contract) Location: Southampton (2 Days Onsite / 3 Days Remote) Duration: 6 Months (Potential Extension) IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Rate: Competitive (DOE) Start Date: ASAP Overview: We are currently supporting a well-established organisation undergoing a significant transformation programme and are now looking to appoint an experienced Head of PMO to help stabilise, lead, and evolve the PMO function during a critical phase of change and growth. This is not a role for someone purely academic or process-driven on paper. The business is specifically looking for a hands-on PMO leader who has previously entered organisations where the PMO function was underperforming, lacking structure, or failing to operate effectively — and successfully transformed it into a high-performing, well-governed, delivery-focused environment. The successful candidate will be energetic, highly organised, commercially aware, and capable of operating at pace within a fast-moving transformation environment. Strong leadership capability and the ability to multitask across multiple programmes and stakeholders will be essential. Key Requirements: • Proven experience leading or transforming PMO functions within complex organisations • Experience improving or restructuring failing, immature, or disorganised PMO environments • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability • Ability to work at pace across large-scale transformation programmes • Highly organised with strong multitasking and prioritisation skills • Commercially minded with a pragmatic and delivery-focused approach • Experience operating within enterprise transformation programmes This represents an excellent opportunity to join a long-term transformation journey where you will have genuine influence on programme governance, delivery standards, and organisational change.
