AAT Qualified Accountant / Accounts Technician

A well established firm of chartered accountants in Norwich is looking for an AAT qualified accountant to join their growing team. They've been serving Norfolk businesses since the 1960's, so there's real stability here, but the work itself is anything but stale. You'll be handling bookkeeping, VAT, year end accounts and self assessment tax returns for a mix of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Sole traders one morning, a manufacturing business the next. Plenty of room to build breadth across the full accounting and tax spectrum. What you'll be doing * Managing client bookkeeping on cloud accounting software * Preparing and submitting VAT returns * Year end accounts across a range of client types and sectors * Self assessment tax returns * Ad hoc work with the wider accounts and tax team * Keeping everything accurate and on deadline What they need from you * AAT qualified, or qualified by experience with equivalent knowledge * Practice experience, this one's essential * Solid grounding in bookkeeping, VAT and accounts prep * Confidence preparing personal tax returns * Sharp attention to detail * Comfortable talking to clients directly * Happy working across accounting software and MS Office day to day Nice to have * Xero, QuickBooks or similar cloud software * Knowledge of corporation tax compliance On offer * Competitive salary based on experience * Real training and development, tailored to where you want to go * A supportive team with directors who are approachable and involved * Broad sector exposure rather than one narrow client type * A firm with decades of history and staying power in the local market Based in Norwich, fully office based.
