Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) 📍 York 💰 £50,000 per annum 🕒 Monday to Friday | Days 🏭 Packaging Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical Bias Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a Monday to Friday days role with an established manufacturer? We're recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a successful packaging manufacturer based in York. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support. You'll also be involved in continuous improvement projects, helping to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime across the site. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery. * Respond quickly to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime. * Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, pumps and pneumatic systems. * Support continuous improvement and reliability projects. * Record maintenance activities using the CMMS system. * Work closely with production to maximise plant performance. * Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures. About You We're looking for someone who has: * Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within manufacturing. * A strong mechanical maintenance background. * Experience working with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics. * Mechanical engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent). * Basic electrical fault-finding skills would be advantageous. * A proactive approach with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
