About the role

Senior Test Development Engineer – Raytheon UK (United Kingdom)

Full‑time, permanent position in Glenrothes (Scotland), Livingston (Scotland) or Harlow (Essex). This role focuses on the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment for electronic systems, supporting Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and GPS Anti‑Jamming systems across land, sea, air, and space. A Welcome Bonus of £7.5k is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems.
  • Lead and support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
  • Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop robust, scalable test solutions.
  • Lead design reviews and documentation to the highest standards.
  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for junior engineers.

Required Experience

  • Design of product test development hardware and wiring schedules.
  • System interface design.
  • Appreciation of NI LabView/TestStand.
  • Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation.
  • Proven experience in handover and management of designs in production.
  • Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to support/debug system integration.
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance to a minimum of BPSS.

Desirable Experience

  • Significant test development experience in industry.
  • Understanding of common test architectures (PXI/LXI).
  • Knowledge of Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation.
  • Software knowledge of NI LabView, CVI & TestStand, and C#.
