Position: Test Technician
Location: Wokingham
Type: 6-12 Month Contract
Rate: £23-26 per hour (Ltd Company / Umbrella) or PAYE options available
About the Role This is an excellent opportunity for someone with electronics test experience who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing PCBAs and instrumentation products, ensuring units are fully functional and meet the required quality standards before progressing through production. This role focuses on following established test procedures and utilising a variety of test equipment rather than extensive fault-finding, with engineering support readily available when required.
Key Responsibilities of the Test Technician
Carry out testing of PCBAs and electronic instrumentation products in line with documented procedures.
Connect and operate a range of test instruments and equipment to verify product functionality.
Follow structured test processes and accurately record test results.
Identify and report units that fail testing to the engineering team for further investigation.
Fit components to PCBAs where required as part of the testing process.
Ensure all tested units meet quality and performance standards before release.
Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.
Work closely with engineers and production personnel to support manufacturing activities.
Qualifications & Requirements of the Test Technician
Previous experience in electronics testing, PCBA testing, or a similar electronics manufacturing environment.
Ability to use electronic test equipment and instrumentation.
Comfortable connecting various instruments to PCBAs and following detailed test procedures.
Able to interpret work instructions and technical documentation.
Good understanding of electronic assembly and manufacturing processes.
Fault-finding experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Good communication and teamwork skills.
Able to work independently while following established processes.
Comfortable using PCs and test software in a production environment.
Reliable, proactive, and quality-focused.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
