About the Role
We are recruiting a full‑time Animal Technician in Edinburgh to join one of our valued clients. You’ll work on a weekly schedule, which includes some weekend shifts. This is a temporary contract lasting up to 12 weeks, ideal for someone eager to develop their skills in a professional laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Animal Welfare Monitoring — Observe, handle, and care for animals to ensure their wellbeing
* Hygiene & Cleaning Procedures — Clean cages, equipment, and work areas to strict hygiene standards
* Feeding & Daily Care — Support the animals’ general health and routine needs
* Weaning Procedures — Carry out weaning tasks safely and accurately
* Order Preparation — Pack and prepare orders according to customer requirements
* Quality Management — Contribute to maintaining an efficient Quality Management System
* Other reasonable duties as required
Skills & Experience Required
* Attention to Detail — Accuracy in all tasks
* Communication Skills — Clear and reliable communication
* Instruction Following — Ability to follow detailed protocols
* Flexibility & Learning — Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new processes
* Professional Conduct — Patient, courteous, and professional
* Hygiene Compliance — Comfortable working under strict hygiene requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence & Vehicle Access — Due to the location
* Laboratory Experience or hands on experience working with animals is essential
