About the role
Job title: SEN Teaching Assistant Job
A headteacher is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Penwortham, supporting a pupil with additional needs.
This is a part-time position 15 hours a week for the month of September the role is working with a pupil who requires additional support with learning, communication and personal development.

SEN Teaching Assistant role requirements:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within an SEN setting
• Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD)
• Strong communication, patience and resilience
• Ability to build positive and consistent relationships with pupils
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• Willingness to support with personal care if required (training provided)
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
Support pupil on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist with both learning activities and personal development
• Support pupil with communication, behaviour and engagement
• Help create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
• Work closely with teachers, SENCO and wider support staff
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
