Interim Senior Financial Accountant

Position

Interim Senior Financial Accountant — 6 months with potential to extend. Location: Glasgow / hybrid. Day rate: Up to £400 p/d (inside IR35).

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a well-known Scottish organisation to recruit an Interim Senior Financial Accountant.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Leading the delivery of statutory accounts and periodic financial reporting
• Providing technical accounting expertise across IFRS and UK GAAP
• Managing balance sheet integrity, controls, reconciliations, and ledger governance
• Coordinating year-end processes and external audit activity
• Maintaining accounting policies and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Supporting tax, VAT, payroll-related reporting, and pension accounting matters
• Managing and developing members of the finance team
• Driving continuous improvement of finance processes and controls

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or eqv.)
• Strong technical ability (IFRS, VAT, Payroll, etc.)
• Available at short notice
