The Boars Head is seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef to join our culinary team. Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation
Develop and implement menu ideas in collaboration with management
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations
Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team atmosphere
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Monitor cooking processes to guarantee timely delivery of dishes to customers
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas in accordance with health and safety standards
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
Deep understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
Demonstrated culinary expertise with a creative approach to menu development
Previous experience in restaurant settings or hospitality industry preferred
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination and customer interaction
