About The Role This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to inspire our students. The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality Physical Education teaching across GCSE and A Level, inspiring students to achieve their full potential both academically and physically. The role includes contributing to a broad and engaging co-curricular sports programme, with a particular focus on boys' rugby, while supporting the wider aims of the department and school. The postholder will promote high standards of teaching, learning, behaviour and participation, and play an active role in fostering a positive and inclusive sporting culture across the school. What you will be doing Key Responsibilities - Deliver high-quality teaching across GCSE and A Level Physical Education - Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with departmental schemes of work - Monitor, assess and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching and support achievement - Set high expectations for behaviour, participation and presentation, creating a positive learning environment - Contribute to the delivery of a broad and inclusive co-curricular sports programme - Lead and support boys' sports, particularly rugby (essential), and contribute to football and cricket - Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress effectively with parents - Support students with a range of abilities, including those with additional needs - Participate fully in school life, including fixtures, events, meetings and pastoral responsibilities - Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to departmental improvement What you'll bring Qualifications, Skills and Experience - Good Honours Degree - Qualified Teacher Status (desirable) - Evidence of continued professional development - Ability to coach boys' rugby (essential) - Ability to support football and cricket - A Level Anatomy and Physiology (desirable) - Successful teaching experience in Physical Education - Experience of teaching across Key Stages 3-5 (desirable) - Experience contributing to co-curricular sport - Strong understanding of curriculum requirements and assessment practices - Ability to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons for all abilities - Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students - Strong classroom management and behaviour for learning skills - Commitment to extra-curricular sport, including after-school and weekend fixtures Why Join Quinton House School? - A welcoming, supportive culture where both staff and students are known as individuals - Small class sizes allowing meaningful connections and impactful teaching - Beautiful surroundings paired with modern resources - Strong academic outcomes and ambitious further‐education pathways - A broad co‐curricular programme designed to inspire and extend learning - A collaborative staff body that values creativity, innovation and shared success How to Apply Please submit your application form and supporting statement via our recruitment portal.
