About the role
Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Operations Director to oversee and manage the operational performance, quality, and strategic growth of our care services. This critical leadership role requires a passionate individual with a proven track record in the care sector, strong business acumen, and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care. The Director will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, optimise operational efficiencies, and lead a culture of continuous improvement across all care locations/services.
Develop and implement the operational strategy for care services, aligning with the organisation's mission and long-term goals.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all care facilities/services to ensure efficiency, high occupancy/service utilization, and effective resource management.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to care quality, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and resident/service user satisfaction.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all services meet or exceed regulatory requirements (e.g., CQC, Care Inspectorate, etc.) and internal quality standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor robust quality assurance processes, clinical governance, and risk management frameworks.
Lead the preparation and response to regulatory inspections, aiming for the highest possible ratings.
Financial Management & Growth
Identify opportunities for strategic growth, expansion, and service development to meet community needs and organizational objectives.
Analyse financial data and operational metrics to make informed decisions that improve profitability and sustainability.
Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, retention, training, and professional development for care staff and management.
Ensure effective performance management and adherence to HR policies and employment law.
In-depth knowledge of relevant care legislation, quality standards, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CQC Fundamental Standards).
Proven ability to manage significant budgets and drive commercial success.
Nursing, Social Work, Health/Care Management) or a degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
High degree of commercial awareness and business acumen.
