About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Financial Controller to oversee financial control activities across manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting. A hands-on finance professional is required with deep expertise in inventory, who can strengthen controls, improve processes, and provide meaningful financial insight to support operational decision-making. Key Responsibilities Own inventory and COGS accounting, ensuring accuracy and integrity of reporting. Manage month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial controls. Analyse manufacturing costs, standard costing, stock valuation, and production variances. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and profitability. Lead process improvement initiatives across finance and manufacturing functions. Act as the key contact for external auditors on inventory and manufacturing accounting matters.Requirements Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or qualified by experience). Strong manufacturing finance background. Significant experience in inventory accounting and COGS reporting. Experience with external audits and financial controls. Strong process improvement and business partnering skills. Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.Desirable Big 4 audit training. Experience within a complex manufacturing environment.
