Senior Site Manager – New Build Leisure Centre Location: Yeovil, Somerset Salary: Negotiable basic salary plus comprehensive benefits package Employment Type: Permanent Sector: Leisure / Design and Build The Opportunity An established and growing main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a major new-build leisure complex in Yeovil. The contractor specialises in fast-track design-and-build projects across the leisure, retail, industrial and logistics sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful project team and deliver a prestigious, technically challenging development that will provide modern sporting and community facilities for the local area. The Project The development comprises a state-of-the-art steel-frame leisure centre, including: - 25-metre swimming pool with a 68-seat viewing gallery - Steam room and sauna facilities - Teaching pool with a moveable floor and pool hoist - Five-court sports hall with underfloor heating and a dividing wall - Two climate-controlled studios with sprung floors - 65-station gym and dedicated group cycling studio - Flexible-use changing facilities - Two Changing Places toilets and fully accessible facilities - Multi-purpose function room with bar facilities - Café overlooking the teaching pool - External works, landscaping and associated infrastructure - On-site car park with electric vehicle charging points and cycle storage The Role Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities will include: * Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site personnel * Supporting the development and implementation of the construction programme * Monitoring progress against key project milestones * Ensuring all works comply with drawings, specifications and quality requirements * Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance * Managing site logistics, deliveries and material coordination * Chairing subcontractor and progress meetings * Completing site inspections, quality checks and associated documentation * Identifying potential delays, risks and technical issues * Liaising with the client, design team, consultants and senior management * Managing the completion, commissioning, snagging and handover process Candidate Requirements The successful candidate should have: * Previous experience working as a Senior Site Manager for a recognised main contractor * Experience delivering new-build projects from the groundworks stage through to completion * Leisure centre, swimming pool, sports facility or complex commercial project experience would be advantageous * Strong knowledge of steel-frame construction, internal fit-out and building services * Excellent subcontractor management and programme management skills * A proven track record of delivering projects safely and to a high standard * Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills * SMSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid at Work Package The company is offering a competitive package that includes: * Negotiable basic salary * Company car or car allowance * Performance-related bonus scheme * Travel to the project fully expensed * Contributory pension scheme * Life assurance * Private healthcare * Long-term career progression with an established main contractor Apply For further information or a confidential discussion, please submit your CV through CV-Library.
