Freelance Sub Agent

A leading multi-million pound civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Sub Agent to support a portfolio of major infrastructure projects across the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business delivering complex schemes within heavy civils, RC structures, and water treatment environments. Key Responsibilities - Oversee day-to-day site operations across RC structures, water treatment schemes, and associated civils works - Lead site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget - Prepare, review, and implement Method Statements, RAMs (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), and Work Package Plans - Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards - Manage subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials - Monitor progress, produce reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders - Maintain quality assurance and ensure all works meet specification Requirements - Proven experience as a Sub Agent within heavy civils projects - Strong background in reinforced concrete (RC) structures and/or water treatment schemes - Excellent knowledge of Method Statements, RAMs, and Work Package Plans - SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid qualifications - Strong leadership and communication skills - Ability to work autonomously in a freelance capacity What’s on Offer - Competitive day rate (outside IR35 subject to assessment) - Long-term freelance opportunity with a reputable contractor - Exposure to technically challenging and high-value infrastructure projects
