Director, Continuing Education
About the role
Director, Continuing Education
How do you turn membership into a lifelong value proposition? What does continuing education look like when it is driven by member needs, not just curriculum design? How do you build learning that evolves with professional practice, not just exams? At CFA Institute, we are redefining what it means to be a member in a rapidly changing investment industry. As technology, regulation, and client expectations evolve, our members need credible, technically rigorous learning that supports them across their careers, not just at the point of qualification.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute a global continuing education strategy aligned with CFA Institute’s mission and Membership priorities.
- Define and evolve the continuing education value proposition across career stages, regions, and member segments.
- Apply member, employer, and market insights to ensure learning remains relevant, differentiated, and aligned to evolving professional practice.
- Partner with Technology and Product teams to design and deliver a modern CE platform, including tracking, verification, and compliance.
- Serve as the Membership lead on skills‑based learning, working with Education to modularise and reuse learning assets.
- Partner with AI, Education, and Research teams to deliver an AI‑enabled learning ecosystem for members.
- Lead strategy for live and virtual learning experiences, professional communities, and external CE partnerships.
- Establish quality, credibility, and verification standards, and define success metrics for member engagement, capability development, and impact.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in professional, executive, or continuing education within a professional or industry‑facing context.
- Proven experience designing, scaling, or transforming modern learning ecosystems that are digital, modular, and skills‑based.
- Ability to position continuing education as a strategic value proposition, not just a programme of content.
- Experience designing and delivering education within professional, regulated, or standards‑driven environments (e.g., professional bodies, certification organisations, or industry‑led education ecosystems).
- Ability to translate evolving professional practice into credible, skills‑based learning that resonates with practitioners and employers.
- Strong product and technology fluency, with experience working alongside digital platforms, data, and AI‑enabled learning solutions.
- Ability to combine strategic vision with hands‑on delivery, particularly in early phases of transformation.
- Comfortable operating as an individual contributor initially, with openness to taking on people leadership as the function grows.
- Strong stakeholder influence skills within complex, global, matrixed organisations.
- Demonstrated success building external partnerships with academia, learning providers, professional bodies, regulators, or employers.
- CFA Charterholder is welcomed as a credibility signal, but not required; candidates with experience supporting professional communities and standards‑based education are equally valued.
Why Join Us
- An opportunity to redefine continuing education as a core membership value proposition.
- High visibility and influence across Membership, Education, Product, and enterprise strategy.
- The chance to shape lifelong learning for one of the world’s most trusted financial professional communities.
- Meaningful global impact at scale, supporting members throughout their careers.
- A mission‑driven organisation where professionalism, ethics, and learning are deeply connected.
Benefits
- Expected salary range: UK £90,000 – £110,000 per year.
- Eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.
- 12% employer contribution to a pension plan.
- Comprehensive medical benefits package.
- Generous time off, competitive retirement plans, flexible work options, wellbeing and development programs.
